One thing that I’ve learned as an astrologer is that people are often unaware of where their luck is. I mean that like nobody has ever come into my office complaining about a Jupiter Transit – Jupiter being the luck Planet. But whenever I point out someone like Saturn – the planet of challenge, the planet of testing whethery by transit or ins omeone’s birth chart, they’re usually acutely aware of what I’m talking about. Hard planets like Saturn ask us to cultivate more Consciousness in our lives. Often we have little awareness of a lucky Planet like Jupiter because things are just so going so easily that we really take it for granted.
So when people are going through a tough time and they meet with me, I’m there to contextualize their hardship and show them that there’s a beginning, middle, and end to it. But I do find that over and over again I’m also reminding people where their luck is. It can just give somebody a little bit of perspective during a hard time to know that there’s something going well in their life.
So someone might come into my office want to talk about career and I’ll look and say
“Okay you’ve got Pluto over your midheaven, so things look like they’re really difficult in the office – with your boss in particular. She could be on a huge Power Trip and that’s going to go on for a couple of years. But things do seem like they’re going well in your marriage because you’ve got Jupiter in the seventh house all year”
Then my client will just kind of look at me and say “Oh my God, you’re right! Things are going really well in my marriage. We haven’t been fighting very much and we’ve been having a lot of fun together.” I feel like sometimes just showing people where things are going well in their life helps to balance out the hard stuff, which is always there. Life is not easy; it’s really really difficult at times. So it does help to know where your luck is coming from and often we are just unaware of it.
