January 1, 2024 – Mercury Goes Direct
At the very very beginning of 2024, Mercury goes direct after spending the last month of 2023 retrograde. Travel may slowly become easier, and you may be less confused about what you are doing at work. The first week of 2024 may still be full of technical issues, miscommuncations and scheduling mishaps, because it takes about a week for mercury to get back up to speed and then we can say the retrograde cycle is officially over.
January 11, 2024 – New Moon in Capricorn while Mercury at its Greatest Elongation
This New Moon in Capricorn has a special feature because Mercury is super visible because it’s at its greatest elongation. This New Moon means you will start a new cycle in your work, goals or other ambitious projects. This very visible Mercury makes it rather strong so writing, teaching, communicating and travel are auspicious features of this new enterprise. The planet of technology, Uranus, supports this lunation, so this is a great time for getting involved in anything technical.
January 20, 2024 – Pluto Enters Aquarius
The planet of transformation is dipping back into Aquarius. It will visit Capricorn one last time this year, and I’ll let you know when that happens. Aquarius is the sign of technology and groups, and Pluto is about power and control. Pluto will be in Aquarius until 2043 because it’s so far out in our solar system it takes a long time to move. Over these decades we can expect technology to be used as a means to control society further and a greater sense of tribalism across the world.
January 25, 2024 – Full Moon in Leo
We’ve got a power hungry Full Moon in Leo on the 25th. Pluto is right there by the Sun, adding his intensity. There may be some powerstruggles in your life at the end of the month, as one side is trying to control the other. Everyone may be more emotional and fanatical, cuz Jupiter is also squaring this lunation. All the planets are in fixed signs, so there’s a sense of everyone digging their heels in and you may be dealing with stubborn people.
January 27, 2024 – Uranus Goes Direct
At the end of the month, Uranus goes direct, and thus ends the months long retrograde season. After January, all the planets will be fast and direct, so things may move more smoothly for the first few months of the year. When Uranus goes Direct, you could get a disruption or shock in your life. Maybe something you assumed was stable no longer appers to be, or maybe some sudden tension all of sudden demands to be released. Look to where you have Taurus in your chart to get a sense of how it will affect you personally.
